Since 2009 we have done one thing: wedding ceremonies in Italy. That experience is what lets you relax on the day, knowing every word, every timing and every detail has been thought through.
We work with many of Italy’s leading wedding planners and venues, who trust us with their couples’ ceremonies.
Experience you can count on
17 years of ceremonies and wedding paperwork in villas, castles, gardens and town halls across Italy. Since 2012 our founder Francesca also teaches courses for wedding planners and future wedding planners. We know the venues, the timings and what can go wrong, and we plan for it.
Professional celebrants
Every ceremony is led by an experienced IWC celebrant. Francesca, Francina and Simona have been ordained ministers since 2010, and other members of the team since. Your celebrant writes with you and coordinates with your planner, venue and musicians.
Six languages, one ceremony
English, Italian, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese, so both families understand and feel part of every moment.

Every IWC ceremony comes with
- A free video call to get to know you and your story
- A ceremony written for you, with unlimited emails until it feels right
- Help with vows, readings and music, with examples to choose from
- Rituals chosen with you, such as handfasting, a sand ceremony or a time capsule – wine box ceremony
- Your celebrant on site at least 1 hour before the ceremony
- A symbolic wedding certificate printed on Florentine-style parchment

Our story
Finding the right words since 2009
IWC began in Tuscany in 2009 with a simple idea: international couples marrying in Italy deserve a ceremony that is personal, beautifully led and in their own language. Today our team of celebrants works all over Italy, alongside many of Italy’s leading wedding planners and venues, for couples from the United States to Estonia, from Brazil to the Philippines, from Mexico to Norway.

Francesca was amazing. Prior to the wedding, we coordinated the wedding script. I asked for suggested bible verses and she provided many options. I was so grateful I didn't have to do the research myself. On the day of the wedding, she introduced herself, and was delightful to have around. She is lively, and willing to help in any way. Francesca was amazing! We were two couples traveling to celebrate our wedding 30-year wedding anniversary (lifelong friends, each couple married months apart in 1987). Scott and I wanted to surprise our wives with a ceremony to renew our vows. This was all with short notice (we arranged this in weeks... I recommend months for others :). We were lucky enough to be introduced to Francesca. Via email, she asked all the right questions and customized the ceremony. She even incorporated letters from our children (her idea). It felt like she somehow knew exactly what we wanted/needed. Needless to say, our wives were surprised, and we were all very touched by the event. No. A symbolic ceremony has no legal value. Many couples marry legally at home and hold the ceremony that matters to them in Italy. If you want a legally valid wedding, we offer civil ceremonies.
Can our ceremony be in two or more languages?
Yes. Our celebrants lead ceremonies in six languages and combine them naturally in one ceremony.
Where in Italy do you lead ceremonies?
All over Italy: the north and the lakes, Tuscany and central Italy, Rome, the Amalfi Coast and the south. In Sicily with Loredana, and in Sardinia with our celebrants there. See areas and languages.
How do we book our celebrant?
Send us your date, place and languages. We usually reply quickly and suggest a call to talk it through; in high season, when we are leading ceremonies most days, replies can take a little longer. We then send you a clear written proposal. A retainer secures your date. If you have not heard from us, please check your spam or junk folder: our reply may have ended up there.
How much does a ceremony cost?
Every wedding is different, so we send a tailored proposal once we know your date, place, languages and the kind of ceremony you would like. There are no hidden extras: what is included is written clearly.
Can we meet our celebrant before the wedding?
Yes. Every ceremony starts with a free video call, so you can get to know your celebrant and share your story.
Can we include rituals such as handfasting or a sand ceremony?
Yes. Rituals such as handfasting, a sand ceremony, a unity candle or a time capsule – wine box ceremony are a lovely way to personalise your ceremony, and we help you choose the right ones for you. For many rituals we bring what is needed; outdoors we will tell you honestly what works, because candles, for example, do not like the wind.
Do you work with our wedding planner and venue?
Yes. We work with many wedding planners, coordinators and venues across Italy, and we coordinate timings and details with them.
Do you lead same-sex and LGBTQ+ weddings?
Yes, gladly. We welcome every couple, and our ceremonies are open to all backgrounds, cultures and identities.
Can you help with the legal paperwork?
We take care of the ceremony and make sure it fits the legal procedure. Civil paperwork is handled by our specialist partners at WeddingInTuscany.info, and certified translations by Efffetti. See the legal framework.
